Splayed Figures draws from a recurring ancestral motif found across different cultures, particularly among Austronesian peoples: the image of a human figure with outstretched limbs. It is often interpreted as a gesture of worship, invocation, or connection to the spiritual realm. Using the reproducibility of digital media, the work repeats itself, forming a rhythmic sequence that evokes ritual or dance.
